The Better Business Bureau issuing a warning to area businesses about a forged payroll check circulating in the area. The check in question is a Manpower payroll check that was presented at a check cashing location on Saturday, November 3, 2007. Printed on the check was the address of the local Manpower office. Officials with Manpower want you to know that legitimate Manpower payroll checks never have the local office address on the checks.
The person allegedly passing the check was a female and is using an ID from Mexico.
The Bureau suggests caution in accepting these checks and should consider the situation like a forgery in progress. Anyone with information regarding the suspect passing these counterfeit checks should contact the Abilene Police Department at 673-8331.
